About The Staff

THERESE MCNULTY
Co-Owner, Suburban Pets
“While finishing up my Master’s Degree and commuting to Manhattan as a healthcare administrator, I could not help but to think that there must be something out there I could do for a living which would include my genuine passion for dogs. They have always been a huge part of my life. The absolute most rewarding feeling I have ever experienced came as a result of rescuing my two dogs, Caesar and Eli. I decided that between my passion for animals, my hope that pet care could be made affordable, my experience and education, I could create a dog walking and pet sitting business without a “business” feel. After all, this is my passion and I would make sure that my clients would not only hear, but feel, that the love I have for their dogs and cats could not be matched. And so the calls started coming in.
Not long after, I began receiving referrals from my clients, groomers, veterinarians and dog trainers. Since I couldn’t be in more than one place at a time, I began training my first employee. The pets we care for are important members of the families with which we have built such strong, trusting relationships. Each employee is carefully selected. They have had rigorous training and background checks. I invite you to share in a wonderful experience with a pet professional from Suburban Pets. You will understand how serious we take this “job”, which to us, isn’t a job at all, but a way to make the lives of an animal enriched and fulfilling. We cannot wait to meet you, and your Suburban Pet!”

LINDSAY DECARIO
Co-Owner, Suburban Pets
“Pet care has been a passion of mine ever since I was a little girl. I always dreamed of one day working with animals. I grew up in a household with dogs and cats, rode horses and attended horse summer camps where I was able to learn about the care for many animals. Throughout my life I have taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, farm animals, reptiles.. you name it! I currently have 3 fur babies of my own, 2 dogs & a cat. Being around & caring for animals seem second nature to me. I have brought years of experience, and knowledge to many of my furry clients.
I attended college for business with no intention of actually becoming a business owner. During my two years of schooling, I gave up my Fridays to volunteer at a horse rescue called Lucky Orphans. Being around animals is what truly made me happy, and giving back to non-profit organizations who helped animals made me even happier. At the age of 23, I decided to take a jump & start my own, certified NYS business. I called it “Lindsays Pet Care Services”. In just 2 short years I had a staff of 10-12 & a clientele of over 200! Knowing that in order to grow and obtain a healthy work-life balance, I reached out to Therese and proposed a merge, I’m so glad I did! Here we are today, running the largest dog walking company on Long Island! I am so happy that I followed my dreams and I encourage other young adults to do the same. Therese, our staff and myself are passionate about exceeding your expectations. We know how much your pets mean to you and we promise to give them just as much love, attention and care when they are in our hands.”

Melissa
Administrative Coordinator, Certified PetTech CPR + First Aid Training Instructor
“Hi! I’m Melissa. I’ve been an animal lover all my life and have been rescuing them ever since I was a little girl. I began my journey with Suburban Pets a few years ago as a walker, and it was a very rewarding experience for me. It’s an incredible feeling to earn the trust and friendship of the wonderful animals we get to spend time with every day. My current role with SP allows me to wear many hats and interact with our clients and staff in multiple ways. From consulting with new clients to scheduling for our walkers, and educating our employees in the most up-to-date procedures in Pet CPR + First Aid, I treat every aspect of my position with equal importance and strive to create not only an enjoyable experience for your fur babies but for our staff and pet parents as well. In my spare time, I love hiking with my own rescue pup, writing, and making music with my twin sister.”

Carol
“Hi! I’m Carol, & I have been an animal lover forever!! I am the proud owner of my rescued lab mix named Moose (feat. in pic) & 2 beautiful kitties, one of which has “special needs”, which to me, makes him even more lovable! I also have been a volunteer for an animal rescue organization since 2010, where I provide comfort, love & care to the cats while they are waiting to find their forever homes. I am often asked to pet sit for friends and family, & since it’s something I love to do, I am thrilled to have joined the team of dog walkers at SP, where I can lovingly provide all the care and attention to your pets as I would give to my own! I look forward to meeting you and your wonderful pets!“

Serina
“Hi there I’m Serina! I’m so lucky to spend my days among cats and dogs, they have taught me so much about life. After a lively day of walking pups, find me snuggled up with my own pets, or taking a walk in the preserve.”

Christine
“Hi, I’m Christine. I have been involved in small dog rescue for the last 8 years. Fostering, Home Visits, Transporting. I have taken a step back now regarding fostering since my two time foster pup, adoptee Simba needs to be an only child. Iv’e always had a love for animals since way back. Animals have no voice, that’s where we step in. The unconditional love you receive from your pet is the greatest. I look so forward to providing hugs, kisses and professional care to your pets, leaving you worry free!”

Kat
“I’m an obsessed fur mommy and am excited to be able to spend time with your fur babies when you’re not around. I look forward to the times spent with them and wish there were more hours in the day to do more. Pictured is me and Molly when she was a puppy. She is truly a rescue dog that rescued me.”

Tracey
“My name is Tracey and I love and have owned all types of animals such as dogs, various birds, hamsters, and a bearded dragon. I currently have a female boxer named Remmie and she is my sidekick. Remmie and I train with an organization called “ Paws of War “ so that she can become certified as a service dog in support of my oldest daughter. It is an absolute privilege to work for Suburban Pets and to get to know and love the fur babies of our clients. “

Kimberly
Hi, I’m Kimberly, and this is my little girl, Penny! I have been an animal lover my whole life, I don’t ever remember a time when I didn’t own a dog, and I wouldn’t want it any other way! Caring for animals makes my heart full, there is no better love than the unconditional love that they give!

Tahara
When I’m not walking, I’m a freelance graphic designer and illustrator. I am also a tattoo artist. And I love to just sit with my dog, Franklin Eleanor (seen in photo.) My two boys want another dog but I’m good with Franklin and giving your dogs the care they deserve!”

Nick
“Hello my name is Nick! I have been working for Suburban Pets for about 9 months now. It is a wonderful job and I love getting to know all the different dogs and clients and developing relationships with them. Lauren
“Hi! My name is Lauren. I’ve been a lifelong fan of animals and with SP for a year now. Animal’s have helped me throughout my life experiences so I love to help them too with their daily needs. It’s fun and also helps me further my knowledge about how much these animals are loved and cared for by others who have given them a happy home. I always find joy in this work because I feel in my own element and my days are always brighter when I spend them with animals!“

Katie W.
“Hey hey! I’m Katie W and I have been with Suburban Pets since October 2019. I have always loved animals and when I saw Suburban Pets was hiring, I couldn’t resist. I work full-time in the city so I love my escape from the hectic world when I get to visit your fur babies during my off time. At home, I have 3 dogs (1 golden doodle and two husky’s) and 2 cats…it’s pretty much my own little zoo.”
